SAN FRANCISCO – Today, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) launched „Encrypt It Already,“ a campaign pushing six tech companies to better protect their users’ privacy through end-to-end encryption.
The privacy-defending nonprofit recently contacted Meta, Apple, Google, Bluesky, Telegram, and Ring, imploring them to implement long-requested encryption features to secure their users’ data and conversations. Now, EFF is asking users to make their voices heard using the new „Encrypt It Already“ website.
„The privacy of our files and communications has never been more important,“ said Thorin Klosowski, Security and Privacy Activist at EFF. „End-to-end encryption is the best tool we have to keep them secure. It ensures that even the services you use cannot access what you store on them. That’s why we’re calling on these companies to keep their promises, protect their users, and Encrypt It Already!“
